Opry Plaza with Billy Joe ShaverJust because you have not heard much about her lately doesn't mean she is sitting still. Pam is taking some time off touring Europe to write and work on her new album. But back in the US work continues as usual. Saturday night August 7, the legendary singer/songwriter Billy Joe Shaver said he wants to bring up a talented lady to spice things up during his performance at the Opry Plaza and asked Pam to come on stage and sing. Billy Joe's performance is part of the current Opry Plaza Concert Series. In the turmoil of life with its ups and downs Pam's new album will feature songs from the heart. There is talk that Pam Tillis may produce her new album but nothing has been decided as yet. On wednesday August 11, Pam featured at the Nashville Palace. This venue features acts familiar to fans of the Grand Ole Opry. The Palace is located opposite the Opry and it is the very place where Randy Travis got his start (see other News Flash). In an intimate setting that held upto 600 people Pam spontaneously went on stage, guitar in hand and sang 2 songs. From the album she is currently working on she sang Enough and from her album Cowgirl State of Mind she sang You can't hurt me anymore. Pam says it was great to be able to meet up with her Honky Tonk Hero! On a more exotic note, Pam will be travelling to Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands, in October to perform at the Texas Rancho. She had the honor of performing there last year (see previous news flash) and since it was such a succes she has been asked back this year. |
