250th Celebration Radio Peelstar Country ClubOn April 12th, 2002 Radio station Peelstar Country Club went on air for the 250th time. The past five years have been presented by DJ Bert van der Wijst. His program reaches country music lovers in the whole south-east of the Netherlands and parts of Germany. Pam MacBeth did an interview in Bert's program last year and was present at this special celebration. To celebrate the 250th time Bert made arrangements in Oele Ton's Feesterij which is opposite the radio station. The performance of Pam MacBeth (and other artists) was broadcast live. Though she had planned on singing six songs for the occasion (accompanied by Desperado) she was asked to end with her version of Hank Williams' Jambalya and that meant Clogging and Flipping for Pam. In the interview Bert wanted to test her conversation skills in the Dutch language and although Pam is trying to better herself in Dutch it is impossible for her to master it so soon though she topped Ik spreek geen Nederlands (I don't speak Dutch) with één biertje (one beer please)! Thank you Bert for letting us celebrate the 250th broadcast with you. |
